Sharon Shahaf

Bio

Sharon Shahaf (PhD, UT Austin) is a scholar, author, editor and writing/creativity coach. Dr. Shahaf is the founder of Academic Writers Unblock!, a writing consultancy offering workshops, private coaching, a vibrant, free, online community and a popular YouTube channel. Shahaf has taught at Tel Aviv University, Georgia State University and The University of Texas at Austin and her scholarly work has appeared in journals including Critical Studies in Television,  The Westminster Papers  and Creative Industries Journal Her co-edited anthology, Global Television Formats: Understanding Television across Borders (Routledge, 2012) won The Society for Cinema and Media Studies Best Edited Collection Award for 2013. She is currently working on her memoir, The Zombie-PhD Mother and on a writing guide for career academics, dealing with the taboo topic of the academic writer's block and offering practical solutions for those wishing to develop a self-compassionate, successful (even, joyful!), academic writing practice.
